ભૂખ્યા રહેજો, ગમાર રહેજો

jobs[સ્ટીવ જોબ્સ વિશે : 12મી જૂન 2005ના રોજ સ્ટાનફોર્ડ યુનિવર્સિટીના પદવીદાન સમારંભનાં અતિથિવિશેષ સ્ટીવ જોબ્સે પોતાના દીક્ષાંત પ્રવચનથી યુનિવર્સિટીના સ્ટેડિયમમાં ઉપસ્થિત ત્રેવીસ હજારની મેદનીને મંત્રમુગ્ધ કરી દીધી હતી. આ પ્રસંગે ઉપસ્થિત હતા યુનિવર્સિટીના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ, તેમનાં વાલીઓ અને શિક્ષકગણ. સ્ટીવ જોબ્સ આવ્યા સાદું શર્ટ અને જીન્સ પહેરીને, પગમાં સામાન્ય સેન્ડલ્સ. સમારંભ વખતે પ્રસંગને અનુરૂપ બનવા ચઢાવવો પડ્યો અતિથિવિશેષનો ખાસ ગાઉન (Robe) હાજર રહેલા સૌને યાદ રહી ગયું તેમનું હૃદયસ્પર્શી વક્તવ્ય. આ સમારંભનો વિસ્તૃત અહેવાલ અને સ્ટીવ જોબ્સનું સંપૂર્ણ ભાષણ સ્ટાનફોર્ડ યુનિવર્સિટીની સાઈટ પર http://news-service.stanford.edu/news/2005/june15/grad-061505.html ઉપલબ્ધ છે.

આજ સુધીમાં જગતભરમાં સૌથી વધુ સંખ્યામાં ખપી હોય તેવી ચીજ છે ipod. 20 કરોડથી પણ વધુ ipod વેચાયાં છે અને તેની ઘેલછા ઉત્તરોત્તર વધતી જાય છે. જોઈએ ત્યારે અને જોઈએ ત્યાં મનપસંદ સંગીત સાંભળવા સાથે લઈને જઈ શકાય તેવું ટચૂકડું ઈલેક્ટ્રોનિક સાધન એટલે ipod. હજારો મનગમતાં ગીતોનો સંગ્રહ ખીસ્સામાં રાખેલા આ ipod ની મદદથી માણી શકાય. આ ipod ના સર્જક છે સ્ટીવ જોબ્સ. તેઓ એપલ અને મેકિન્ટોશ કોમ્પ્યુટરના પણ સર્જક છે. કૉમ્પ્યુટરની કમાલને લોકભોગ્ય બનાવી જનસાધારણ સુધી પહોંચાડવામાં તેમનો મોટો ફાળો છે. કોમ્પ્યુટરની જટિલ ટેકનોલોજીને સામાન્ય નાગરિકના મિત્ર તરીકે પ્રસ્તુત કરવાનું શ્રેય પણ તેમને જાય છે.

આજથી દશ-બાર વર્ષ પહેલાં તેમણે એપલ કોમ્પ્યુટરની જાહેરખબરમાં વિશ્વની મહાન વ્યક્તિઓનાં ચિત્ર આપી માત્ર બે શબ્દોનો અદ્દભુત સંદેશ રજૂ કર્યો હતો – Think Different – જુદું વિચારો. પ્રસ્તુત છે તેમનું પ્રવચન.]

સમગ્ર વિશ્વમાં ટોચનાં વિશ્વવિદ્યાલયોમાંના એકમાંથી આજે તમે જ્યારે પદવી મેળવવાના છો ત્યારે તમારી સમક્ષ ઉપસ્થિત રહેવાનું આમંત્રણ મળ્યું તેને હું મારું સન્માન ગણું છું. હું તો મારી જિંદગીમાં કોઈ શૈક્ષણિક પદવી મેળવી નથી શક્યો. ખરું કહું તો કોઈ પણ પ્રકારની શૈક્ષણિક પદવીની જો હું નજીકમાં નજીક પહોંચી શક્યો હોઉં તો તે છે આજનો પ્રસંગ. આજે હું તમને મારા જીવનને લગતી ત્રણ વાતો કહેવા ઈચ્છું છું. બસ તેટલું જ, વધુ નહીં – માત્ર ત્રણ વાતો.

પહેલી વાત છે ટપકાં જોડવાની.

રીડ કૉલેજમાં મેં છ એક મહિના અભ્યાસ કરી ભણતર છોડી દીધું. જોકે ત્યાર બાદ પણ લગભગ દોઢેક વર્ષ હું કૉલેજમાં આંટા-ફેરા કરતો રહ્યો અને પછી કૉલેજને સાવ તિલાંજલિ આપી દીધી. મેં અભ્યાસ અધૂરો કેમ છોડ્યો ?
આની શરૂઆત તો મારા જન્મ પહેલાં જ થઈ હતી. મારી જન્મદાત્રી મા કૉલેજની એક અપરિણીત વિદ્યાર્થીની હતી. તેણે મને દત્તક આપવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો ત્યારે તેનો ખાસ આગ્રહ હતો કે મને દત્તક લેનાર પોતે સ્નાતક હોવા જ જોઈએ. મારા જન્મ વખતે જ એક વકીલ અને તેની પત્ની મને દત્તક લે તેવું નક્કી કરાયું. હવે થયું એવું કે મારા જન્મ સાથે મને દત્તક લેવાનાં હતાં તે દંપતીએ નિર્ણય બદલ્યો અને કહ્યું કે તેમને તો દીકરી જોઈએ છે. એટલે જેમણે બાળક દત્તક લેવાની યાદીમાં નામ નોંધાવી રાખ્યાં હતાં તેવા દંપતી – મારાં પાલક માતાપિતાનો સંપર્ક કરાયો; અને તે પણ મધરાતે. પૂછ્યું : ‘અમારી પાસે એક તાજો જન્મેલો પુત્ર દત્તક આપવા માટે અણધાર્યો મળ્યો છે, તમારે જોઈએ છે ?’ તેમણે તો રાજીના રેડ થઈને હા પાડી. મારી જન્મદાત્રી માતાને પછી ખબર પડી કે મારી પાલક માતાએ કૉલેજનું શિક્ષણ પૂરું નહોતું કર્યું અને મારા પાલક પિતાએ તો શાળાનું શિક્ષણ પણ અધૂરું મૂક્યું હતું. એટલે મારી જન્મદાત્રી માતાએ તો દત્તક પ્રક્રિયાના દસ્તાવેજો પર સહી કરવાની સાફ ના પાડી. જ્યારે થોડા મહિનાઓ પછી મને દત્તક લેવા ઈચ્છતા દંપતીએ તેને ખાતરી આપી કે તેઓ મને વધુ અભ્યાસાર્થે કૉલેજમાં જરૂર મોકલશે ત્યારે મારી જન્મદાત્રી માએ દસ્તાવેજો સહી કર્યા.

અને 17 વર્ષ પછી મેં કૉલેજમાં પ્રવેશ પણ મેળવ્યો. મારી અણસમજને કારણે મેં તમારી સ્ટાનફોર્ડ કૉલેજ જેટલી જ મોંઘી કૉલેજ પસંદ કરી; અને જિંદગીભર પરસેવો પાડીને મારાં મા-બાપે જે થોડીઘણી બચત કરી હતી તે બધી મારી કૉલેજના અભ્યાસમાં ખર્ચાઈ ગઈ. શરૂઆતના છ મહિનામાં જ મને આ અભ્યાસ નિરર્થક જણાવા લાગ્યો. મને ન તો મારે મારી જિંદગીમાં શું કરવું છે તેનો ખ્યાલ હતો કે ન તો કૉલેજનો અભ્યાસ મને આ નક્કી કરવામાં મદદરૂપ થાય તેમ હતો. અને હું મારાં મા-બાપે મહામહેનતે રળેલી મૂડી મારા અભ્યાસ પાછળ ખર્ચી રહ્યો હતો. એટલે મેં કૉલેજનો અભ્યાસ અધૂરો મૂકી દેવાનો નિર્ણય લીધો એ આશા સાથે કે સૌ સારાંવાનાં થઈ રહેશે. તે વખતનો સમય ઘણો બિહામણો લાગતો હતો પણ આજે જ્યારે ભૂતકાળમાં નજર નાખું છું ત્યારે લાગે છે કે મારી જિંદગીમાં લેવાયેલો એ સારામાં સારો નિર્ણય હતો. જેવું મેં અભ્યાસ છોડી દેવાનું નક્કી કર્યું કે મને અણગમતા વિષયોના વર્ગમાં હાજરી આપવામાંથી મુક્તિ મળી અને મને જે વિષયોમાં રસ પડતો તે વર્ગોમાં હું જઈ શકતો.

આ અનુભવ જરાય રોમાંચક નહોતો. મારી પાસે તો વિદ્યાર્થીગૃહમાં એક કમરો પણ નહોતો; મારા મિત્રોની રૂમમાં જમીન પર સૂઈ રહેતો. કોકા-કોલાની ખાલી બાટલીઓ હું પાછી આપતો – જે પાંચેક સેંટ મળ્યા – તેમાંથી કાંઈ ખાઈ તો શકાશે તેવી આશાથી. અને દર રવિવારે સાતેક માઈલ જેટલું ચાલીને હરે રામ મંદિરમાં જતો – પેટ ભરીને ભોજન મળે તે ઈરાદાથી. આ બધામાંથી મને આનંદ મળતો. મારી જિજ્ઞાસાવૃત્તિને કારણે હું જ્યાં જ્યાં ભટક્યો તે અનુભવો મારી ભવિષ્યની જિંદગીમાં મારા માટે વરદાનરૂપ નીવડ્યા. એક દાખલો આપું.

રીડ કૉલેજમાં ત્યારે બીજે ક્યાંય ન ઉપલબ્ધ હોય તેવો અપ્રતિમ અભ્યાસક્રમ હતો સુલેખન (Calligraphy)નો. આખી કૉલેજમાં દરેક પોસ્ટર કે નામની તક્તી સુંદર મરોડદાર અક્ષરોથી લખાયેલી હતી. મેં તો ભણવાનું છોડી દીધું હતું એટલે મારે માથે નિયમિત વર્ગો ભરવાની કોઈ જવાબદારી નહોતી રહી. મેં સુલેખનના વર્ગો ભરવાનું ઠેરવ્યું. અક્ષરો, તેમની જુદી-જુદી ભાતો, આંખને રીઝવે તેવા મરોડ, બે અક્ષરો વચ્ચે છોડવી પડતી સંતુલિત ખાલી જગ્યા, જુદા-જુદા અક્ષરો વચ્ચે કેટલું અંતર રાખીએ તો સુંદર ગોઠવણ લાગે વગેરેમાં મને આનંદ મળવા માંડ્યો. આમાં સૌંદર્ય, કલાત્મકતા, નજાકત હતાં જે વિજ્ઞાન સમજાવી શકે તેમ નથી.

જોકે આમાંનું કશુંય મારી રોજબરોજની જિંદગીમાં કોઈ જાતના ખપમાં આવશે તેવી તો કોઈ આશા પણ કરવાનો અર્થ નહોતો. પણ દસ વર્ષ બાદ જ્યારે અમે મેકિન્ટોશ કૉમ્પ્યુટરની રચનામાં લાગ્યા હતા ત્યારે આ બધું ઉપયોગી નીવડ્યું. મેક કોમ્પ્યુટર (Mac) ની ડિઝાઈનમાં મેં આ જ્ઞાનનો પૂરેપૂરો ઉપયોગ કર્યો. સુંદર અક્ષરોની સગવડવાળું તે પહેલું કોમ્પ્યુટર હતું. જો દસ વર્ષ પહેલાં મેં સુલેખનનો અભ્યાસ ન કર્યો હોત તો મેક કોમ્પ્યુટરમાં ક્યારે પણ જાત-જાતના સુંદર અક્ષરોની સગવડ ન કરાઈ હોત; અને બીજા કોઈ કોમ્પ્યુટરમાં પણ આ ઉપલબ્ધ ન થયું હોત, કારણ કે વિન્ડોઝ (windows) તો મેકની નકલ જ છે. જો મેં અભ્યાસ અડધેથી પડતો ન મૂક્યો હોત તો મેં ક્યારેય સુલેખનના વર્ગો ન ભર્યા હોત અને આજનાં કોમ્પ્યુટરોમાં જે સુંદર અક્ષરોની વ્યવસ્થા અને સગવડ મળે છે તે મળી ન હોત એમ હું માનું છું. અલબત્ત, ભવિષ્ય સામે તાકીને ટપકાં જોડી આ અનુભવમાંથી કોઈ ભાત ઊભી કરવાનું ત્યારે શક્ય નહોતું પણ દસ વર્ષ પછી ભૂતકાળમાં ડોકિયું કરતાં આ બધું દીવા જેવું સ્પષ્ટ લાગેલું. ભવિષ્ય સામે જોઈ ટપકાં જોડવાનું શક્ય નથી; માત્ર ભૂતકાળનો અનુભવ જ જુદાં જુદાં ટપકાંઓમાંથી એક સ્પષ્ટ ભાત ઊપજાવી શકે. એટલે અત્યારે જુદાં જુદાં ટપકાંઓ જેવી લાગતી વિગતો ભવિષ્યમાં જરૂર કોઈ સુરેખ ભાત પેદા કરશે તેવી શ્રદ્ધાથી આગળ વધો. શ્રદ્ધા તો જોઈશે જ – તમારી બાહોશીમાં, કર્તૃત્વમાં, કર્મોમાં, જિંદગીમાં. આ અભિગમે મને ક્યારેય નિષ્ફળતા નથી આપી અને મારા જીવનમાં જે કરી શક્યો છું તે આને પરિણામે જ.

મારી બીજી વાત છે પ્રેમ અને નુકશાનને લગતી.

હું નસીબદાર છું – જિંદગીનાં શરૂઆતનાં વર્ષોથી જ મને શું કરવામાં રસ છે તેની મને જાણ હતી. વોઝ (સ્ટીવ વોઝનૈક) અને મેં સહિયારા પ્રયત્નોથી મારા ઘરનાં ભંડકિયામાં એપલ કોમ્પ્યુટર બનાવ્યું. ત્યારે મારી ઉંમર હતી 20 વર્ષની. અમે પૂરી તાકાત લગાવી જહેમત કરી અને દસ વર્ષના ટૂંકા ગાળામાં જ બે વ્યક્તિઓએ ભંડકિયાથી શરૂ કરેલો આ પ્રયત્ન પલટાયો બે અબજ ડોલર અને 4000 કર્મચારીઓવાળી કંપનીમાં. અમે અમારું સર્વોત્તમ સર્જન – મેકિનટોશ કોમ્પ્યુટર (Macintosh) બનાવ્યું હતું અને ત્યારે મારી વય હતી 30 વર્ષની. આવે વખતે મને કંપનીમાંથી પાણીચું પરખાવાયું. તમને થશે મેં જ સ્થાપેલી કંપનીમાંથી મને જ પાણીચું – એ કેમ બને ? વાત એમ હતી કે જેમ જેમ એપલ કંપનીની પ્રગતિ થવા માંડી તેમ મને લાગ્યું કે ધંધો ચલાવવા એક કુશળ વ્યક્તિને પણ હું મારી સાથે સામેલ કરું. પહેલું વર્ષ તો બધું સમુંસૂતરું ચાલ્યું પણ પછી કંપનીના ભવિષ્ય માટેની અમારી કલ્પનાઓમાં અંતર પડવા માંડ્યું અને તેમાંથી સર્જાયા તીવ્ર મતભેદો. જ્યારે વાત વણસી ત્યારે કંપનીના બીજા ડાયરેક્ટરોએ પેલી વ્યક્તિને સાથ આપવાનું પસંદ કર્યું અને એટલે 30 વર્ષની ઉંમરે હું મારી જ સ્થાપેલી કંપનીમાંથી બહાર ફેંકાઈ ગયો. તે પણ કેવી રીતે ? દુનિયાઆખીએ આ તમાશો માણ્યો તેવી જાહેર રીતે. મારા અસ્તિત્વનું કેન્દ્રબિંદુ જ જાણે ભૂંસાઈ ગયું. હું તદ્દન હચમચી ઊઠ્યો.

થોડા મહિનાઓ સુધી તો શું કરવું તેની કોઈ ગતાગમ જ ન પડી. સાહસિકોની એક નવી પેઢીને મેં છેહ આપ્યો છે અને જેમણે મારા પર શ્રદ્ધા રાખી હતી તેમને મેં દુભાવ્યા છે તેવી લાગણી મને સતાવતી રહી. હું ડેવિડ પેકાર્ડ અને બોબ નોયસને મળ્યો અને મારા છબરડા માટે તેમની માફી માગી. મારી નિષ્ફળતા અને નાલેશીનો જાણે જાહેર ઢંઢેરો પીટ્યો હતો; મારું કાર્યક્ષેત્ર છોડી પલાયન થવાના પણ વિચારો આવ્યા. આવા વખતે મને અંદરથી જ એક સ્ફુરણા થવા લાગી. મેં આજ સુધી જે કાંઈ પણ કર્યું છે તેમાં મને આનંદ જ આવ્યો છે અને મારી નિષ્ફળતાએ આ હકીકત પર કોઈ જ અસર નહોતી કરી. ભલે હું તરછોડાયો હોઉં, ત્યજાયો હોઉં પણ મારા કાર્ય પ્રત્યેનો મારો પ્રેમ તો સાબૂત જ હતો. મેં નવેસરથી શરૂઆત કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. ત્યારે તો મને કલ્પના પણ નહોતી આવી પણ પછી મને લાગ્યું કે એપલમાંથી મારી હકાલપટ્ટી થઈ તે મારા માટે સારામાં સારી ઘટના હતી. સફળતાના ભારેખમ બોજાને સ્થાને નવા નિશાળિયા જેવી હળવાશ લાગવા માંડી – કોઈ પ્રકારની પૂર્વકલ્પિત નિશ્ચિતતા વગરની મોજીલી સ્વતંત્રતા. એ મને દોરી ગઈ મારા જીવનના સૌથી સર્જનાત્મક તબક્કા તરફ. ત્યાર પછીનાં પાંચ વર્ષ મેં મારી નવી કંપની નેક્સ્ટ (Next) સ્થાપવામાં કાઢ્યાં. બીજી કંપની પિક્સાર (Pixar) પણ સ્થાયી અને એક અદ્દભુત સ્ત્રીના પ્રેમમાં પડ્યો – જે મારી પત્ની બની. મારી કંપની પિક્સારે વિશ્વની સૌથી પહેલી એવી કોમ્પ્યુટર એનિમેટેડ ફિલ્મ ‘ટૉય સ્ટોરી’ બનાવી. પિક્સારે અત્યારે આખી દુનિયામાં સૌથી વધુ સફળ એવો એનિમેશન સ્ટુડિયો ગણાય છે. વળી અમુક નાટ્યાત્મક ઘટનાઓ એવી બની કે એપલે મારી કંપની નેક્સ્ટ ખરીદી લીધી. આમ હું સ્વગૃહે એટલે કે એપલમાં પાછો ફર્યો. નેક્સ્ટમાં અમે જે તંત્રજ્ઞાન વિકસાવ્યું તે એપલના પુનરુત્થાનનું મૂળ બન્યું. પત્ની લોરેન સાથે મેં અમારો પ્રેમાળ પરિવાર ઊભો કર્યો.

મને તો ખાતરી છે કે જો મારી એપલમાંથી હકાલપટ્ટી ન થઈ હોત તો આમાંનું કાંઈ જ શક્ય બન્યું ન હોત. દવા ઝેર જેવી કડવી લાગતી હતી પણ ત્યારે દરદીને તેની જરૂર હતી. જિંદગી ઘણી વાર આપણા માથા પર અસહ્ય ઘા કરે છે – તેવે વખતે હિંમત ન હારતાં હું ટકી શક્યો તેનું એક માત્ર કારણ એ હતું કે મારા કાર્યમાંથી મને આનંદ મળતો હતો. તમને શું ગમે છે તે શોધી કાઢો. આ જેટલું પ્રિયજન બાબતે સાચું છે તેટલું કાર્યની બાબતમાં પણ સાચું છે. આપણા જીવનનો મોટો અંશ આપણા કાર્યમાં વીતવાનો છે અને એટલે જ સંતોષ પામવાનો એકમાત્ર રસ્તો છે, આપણે જેને ગમતું કાર્ય માનતા હોઈએ તેમાં પ્રવૃત્ત રહેવું. ઉત્તમ કામ એટલે આપણને ગમતા કાર્યમાં જીવ રેડવો. જો તમને હજુ સુધી આવું કોઈ કાર્ય નજરે ન ચડ્યું હોય તો શોધ ચાલુ રાખો. પ્રેમને લગતી દરેક બાબતમાં થાય છે તેમ તમને આવું કાર્ય જડશે ત્યારે જરૂર એક અલગ અનુભૂતિ થશે. આ બાબતે સમાધાન કે બાંધછોડ ક્યારેય ન કરતા. સાચા સ્નેહ સંબંધોની પેઠે જેમ જેમ સમય વીતતો જશે તેમ તેમ તમારું કાર્ય વધુ ને વધુ દીપી ઊઠશે. ટૂંકમાં આવા કાર્યની નિરંતર શોધમાં રહો, ખોટું સમાધાન કરી ન રહેતા.

મારી ત્રીજી વાત છે મૃત્યુ વિશે.

હું લગભગ 17 વર્ષનો હતો ત્યારે મેં એક સુવાક્ય વાંચેલું : ‘આજનો દિવસ જાણે તમારી જિંદગીનો છેલ્લો દિવસ છે એમ માનીને જિંદગી જીવતાં રહેશો તો એક દિવસ તમે ખરેખર સાચા પુરવાર થશો.’ આની મારા પર અમીટ છાપ છે. છેલ્લાં 33 વર્ષથી રોજ સવારે હું અરીસામાં જોઈ મારી જાતને પૂછું છું – ‘આજનો દિવસ જો તારા આયુષ્યનો છેલ્લો દિવસ હોય તો આજે જે કામ કરવાનું ઠરાવ્યું છે તે કામ જ કરીશ કે પછી બીજું કાંઈ ?’ લગાતાર થોડા દિવસો સુધી જો આ પ્રશ્નનો જવાબ નકારાત્મક આવે તો તેનો અર્થ છે મારા કાર્યમાં ધરમૂળથી ફેરફાર કરવાનો સમય પાકી ગયો છે. થોડા સમયમાં મૃત્યુ આવવાનું છે તેવી સમજને કારણે હું મારા જીવનના અતિ મહત્વના નિર્ણયો લઈ શકવા સક્ષમ બન્યો છું. મૃત્યુની સન્મુખ દરેક બહિર્મુખતા – આશા-આકાંક્ષાઓ, અરમાનો, અહંકાર, ભય, સંકોચ, નામોશી-ગૌણ બની જાય છે અને જેમાં ખરું સત્વ છે તેટલું જ ટકે છે. હારના ભય-પિંજરમાંથી મુક્ત થવાનો એક જ ઉપાય છે. આપણે મૃત્યુ પામવાના છીએ તેનો સ્પષ્ટ અહેસાસ. આપણા બધા જ અંચળા ઊતરી ગયા હોય ત્યારે આપણું અંત:કરણ જ આપણું માર્ગદર્શક બને છે.

એક વર્ષ પહેલાં મને કેન્સર છે તેવું નિદાન થયું. સવારે સાડાસાત વાગે ડૉક્ટરે સ્કેન કર્યો અને મારા સ્વાદુપિંડ (પેનક્રિયાસ) પર કેન્સરની ગાંઠ સ્પષ્ટ દેખાઈ. મને તો સ્વાદુપિંડ શું તે પણ ખબર નહોતી. ડૉક્ટરે બહુ જ સહાનુભૂતિપૂર્વક મને કહ્યું કે આ એક અસાધ્ય એવું કેન્સર છે અને ત્રણ કે છ મહિનાથી વધુ તમે ખેંચી નહીં શકો. તેમણે કહ્યું તારો કારભાર સંકેલવાની શરૂઆત કર – બીજા અર્થમાં કે હવે તારી ઘડીઓ ગણાઈ રહી છે. એટલે કે મારાં સંતાનોને હું આવતાં દસ વર્ષ સુધી જે કહેવાનો હતો, સલાહ-સૂચનો આપવાનો હતો તે બધું હવે તાબડતોબ કરવાનું રહ્યું. મારા કુટુંબની સુખાકારી માટેની બધી વ્યવસ્થા પણ તરત જ પૂરી કરવાની હતી. બધાને અલવિદા કહેવાનું હતું.

આ વ્યથા સાથે આખો દિવસ મેં વિતાવ્યો. રાત્રે ડૉક્ટરોએ મારા કેન્સરની ગાંઠની બાયોપ્સી કરી – મારા ગળામાંથી પેટમાં અને ત્યાંથી આંતરડામાં એન્ડોસ્કોપ પહોંચાડયું, મારા સ્વાદુપિંડ માં સોય દાખલ કરી અને ત્યાં રહેલી ગાંઠમાંના થોડા કોષો અલગ કાઢ્યા. હું તો બેભાન હતો પણ મારી પત્ની આ આખી પ્રક્રિયા દરમ્યાન હાજર હતી. તેણે કહ્યું કે મારા કેન્સરની ગાંઠમાંથી કઢાયેલા કોષોની જ્યારે ડોક્ટરોએ વિસ્તૃત તપાસ કરી ત્યારે તેમની આંખમાં આંસુ આવી ગયાં. મારા કેન્સરની ગાંઠની સારવાર શસ્ત્રક્રિયા દ્વારા કરી શકાય તેમ હતી. મારા પર શસ્ત્રક્રિયા થઈ, કેન્સરની ગાંઠ દૂર કરાઈ અને હું આજે સાજો-નરવો છું. મૃત્યુની ભીષણતાનો આ પ્રત્યક્ષ પરિચય; આશા રાખું છું કે થોડા દસકાઓ સુધી મૃત્યુની નિક્ટ આવવાનું નહીં બને. મૃત્યુને આટલું નજીકથી જોયા પછી તે મારા માટે માત્ર એક ઉપયોગી એવી બૌદ્ધિક કલ્પના જ નથી રહ્યું પણ જીવનની એક અવિભાજ્ય વાસ્તવિકતા બની ગયું છે.

મરવું કોઈને ગમતું નથી. જેમને સ્વર્ગની પ્રાપ્તિ કરવી છે તે પણ મૃત્યુના માર્ગે ત્યાં જવા રાજી નથી હોતા. છતાં મૃત્યુ એ દરેક જીવ માટેનું એક એવું અફર સત્ય છે જેમાંથી આજ સુધી કોઈ છટકી શક્યું નથી. હોવું પણ એમ જ જોઈએ, કારણ કે જીવનની સર્વોત્તમ શોધ જો કાંઈ હોય તો તે છે મૃત્યુ. તેમાં જ જીવનનું પુનરુત્થાન છે. જૂનાને આઘે હડસેલી તે નવા માટે માર્ગ મોકળો કરે છે. આજે તમે નવયુવાન છો પણ કાળક્રમે, થોડા વખતમાં જ, તમે પણ ઘરડા થશો અને આ સાફ-સૂફીના સપાટામાં ઘસડાઈ જશો. તમને આમાં નાટ્યાત્મકતા લાગતી હોય તો માફ કરશો, પણ આ છે આપણા સૌના જીવનની વાસ્તવિકતા.

તમારો સમય સીમિત છે – એટલે બીજા કોઈની મરજી મુજબ જીવવામાં તમારી જિંદગી વેડફી ન નાખતા. બીજાઓએ વિચારી રાખેલા વિચારો અને તેનાં પરિણામોના ગુલામ ન બનતા. તમારા અંતરાત્માના અવાજને આસપાસનાં કોલાહલમાં ઢંકાવા ન દેતા. વળી સૌથી મહત્વની વાત – તમારા હૃદયને ગમતી વાતને અનુસરવાની હિંમત કેળવજો. તમારું હૃદય અને તમારો અંતરાત્મા બરાબર જાણે છે કે તમારી જિંદગીનું તમારે શું કરવાનું છે. બાકીની બધી વાતો ગૌણ છે.

મારા બચપણમાં એક અદ્દભુત સામાયિક પ્રકાશિત થતું હતું. તેનું નામ હતું ‘ધી હોલ અર્થ કેટેલોગ’ (The whole Earth Catalog) મારી આખી પેઢી આની પાછળ ઘેલી હતી. અહીંથી નજીક આવેલા મેન્લો પાર્ક વિસ્તારના સ્ટ્યુવર્ડ બ્રાન્ડ આ સામાયિક ચલાવતા. તેમણે પોતાની સમગ્ર સર્જનશીલતા આમાં રેડેલી. આ વાત છે 1960ના દસકાના ઉત્તરાર્ધની. ત્યારે કોમ્પ્યુટર કે ડેસ્કટોપ પબ્લિશિંગની કોઈ કરતાં કોઈ સગવડ નહોતી. ટાઈપરાઈટર, કાતર, પોલારોઈડ કૅમેરાની મદદથી પેદા થતું આ સર્જન હતું. ગૂગલના જન્મનાં 35 વર્ષ પૂર્વેનું આ મારી પેઢીનું ગૂગલ (Google) હતું. યૌવનના આશાવાદ અને થનગનાટથી ભરપૂર. સ્ટુવર્ટ અને તેના સાથીદારોએ આ સામાયિકના એક પછી એક ઘણા અંકો કાઢ્યા પણ અંતે પ્રકાશન સમેટી લેવાની નોબત આવી. 1970ના દાયકાના મધ્યમાં તેનો છેલ્લો અંક પ્રકાશિત થયો ત્યારે હું તમારી ઉંમરનો હોઈશ. છેલ્લા અંકના પાછળના પૂંઠા પર એક અદ્દભુત ફોટો હતો. વહેલી પરોઢના ગ્રામીણ વેરાન રસ્તાનો – આજે પણ તમે આવા સમયે એકલા નીકળી પડો તો જોવા મળે તેવો જ રસ્તો. ફોટાની નીચે લખ્યું હતું : ‘ભૂખ્યા રહેજો, ગમાર રહેજો’ ગમે તેટલી સિદ્ધિ પ્રાપ્ત કરી હોય તોય વધુ ઉમદા કાર્ય કરવાની ભૂખ જાગ્રત રાખવી તે અર્થમાં ભૂખ્યા રહેજો. સંપાદનનો નશો ચડવા માંડે ત્યારે હજુ અણખેડાયેલા જ્ઞાનના મહાસાગર તરફ નજર નાખતાં આપણે મેળવેલા જ્ઞાનની પામરતાનું ભાન થશે તે અર્થમાં ગમાર રહેજો. આ હતો તેમનો વિદાય સંદેશ – ‘ભૂખ્યા રહેજો, ગમાર રહેજો.’ હું હમેશાં આ સંદેશને અનુસર્યો છું અને આજે જ્યારે તમે આ મહાન વિશ્વવિદ્યાલયમાંથી પદવી ધારણ કરી વિશાળ વિશ્વમાં પ્રવેશો છો ત્યારે તમારા માટે પણ મારી હૃદયપૂર્વકની શુભેચ્છા છે : ‘ભૂખ્યા રહેજો, ગમાર રહેજો.’

If Jesus was GOD:

• If Jesus was GOD, then why in Mark 12:29 Jesus said "Here, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord." The words "our God" indicate that Jesus had a higher God over him, a stronger God than him. Jesus didn't say "Your God". He said "our God" which includes Jesus as the creation of GOD.

• If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 20:17 Jesus said I ascend to my God and your God? This tells us that we and Jesus have a common GOD.

• If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 8:28 Jesus said "I do nothing of myself"? Can't GOD do anything he wills?

• If Jesus was GOD, then why in John 14:28 Jesus said "My Father (GOD) is greater than I"?

• If Jesus was GOD, then why in Luke 23:46 Jesus said "Father (GOD), into thy hands I commend my spirit"?

• If Jesus was GOD, then why in Matthew 19:16 Jesus said "Why call me good, there is none good but One, that is GOD"?

The "God" Title:

How come Christians take the "God" (theos in Greek) title literally with Jesus in Isiah 9:6 and they don't take it literally for the rest of the prophets and people who were called Gods ?
The Prophets who were called "God" in the Bible are as follows:

• Prophet Moses in Exodus 7:1

• The Devil in Corinthians 4:4 (the word for God in this verse is theos in Greek, the same used for Jesus that was translated as "God")

• Multiple Prophets in Psalms 82:6

• King David in Psalm 45:3

Note: The only unique title given to GOD in the Bible that was not given to others at all are Jehova, GOD, and GOD LORD. "God", "Most Mighty" and "Almighty One" are titles that were given to Jesus, other Prophets and to Satan himself in the Bible.

Very important note: Did you know that in the languages of Arabic and Hebrew the father of the house can be called the God of the house? Jesus was the God (father or leader) of his people and their father according to Isiah 9:6. Jesus being the leader and the king, it is normal for him to be called the father of his people (Father in Isiah 9:6), and because he is their father he automatically becomes their God. My father is my God in Arabic and Hebrew.

The "Son" Title:
How come Christians take the "God's Son" title literally with Jesus and they don't take it literally for the rest of the prophets and people who were called the Sons of God?

• In John 3:16 Jesus was called God's only Begotten Son.

• In Exodus 4:22 "Thus saith Jehova, Isreal is my son, even my firstborn." Isreal was called God's First Son.

• In Jeremiah 31:9 "I am a father to Isreal, and Ephraim is my firstborn." Ephraim is God's First Son and First Born.

• In Psalm 2:7 "... Jehova had said onto me (David), thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee." David was called God's Begotten Son.

Were Jesus's Miracle's Unique?
If Jesus is believed to be GOD because he could do miracles, he could heal leprosy, he could cause blind men to see, or raise the dead, then what about the others who performed the same miracles?

• Elisha and Elijah fed a hundred people with twenty barley loaves and a few ears of corn (2 Kings 4:44).

• Elisha told Naaman, who was a leper, to wash in the river Jordan (2 Kings 5:14) and he was healed. Elisha caused a blind man to see in (2 Kings 6:17,20).

• Elijah and Elisha raised the dead in (1 Kings 17:22, and 2 Kings 4:34). Even Elisha's dead bones restored a dead body in (2 Kings 13:21).

• Indeed Jesus had prophesied that people will worship him uselessly and will believe in doctrines not made by GOD but by men "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. (Matthew 15:9)"

• In Matthew 15:9 above, we see Jesus warning that Trinity (the bogus lie) will dominate, and people will take Jesus as GOD and worship him, which is a total sin according to what Jesus said !!

• Allah Almighty (GOD) in the Noble Quran (The Muslims' Holy Scripture) states in Verse 5:72 "They do blaspheme who say: 'God is Christ the son of Mary.' But said Christ: 'O Children of Isreal ! worship God, my Lord and your Lord.' "

• Also in Noble Verse 5:73 "They do blaspheme who say God is one of three in a Trinity: for there is no god except One God. If they desist not from their word (of blasphemy), verily a grievous penalty will befall the blasphemers among them."

• And also in Noble Verse 4:171 "O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of God aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) an apostle of God, ..."

The Point that I am trying to prove:
               Muslims believe that Prophet Jesus peace be upon him is a messenger from God. He was sent from God Almighty to deliver God's words to his people. Jesus was never God, nor ever claimed to be God. Jesus was a humble wonderful human being just like the rest of the Prophets and Messengers of God. Muslims also believe that Jesus was never crucified, nor ever died on the cross, nor ever wanted to die on the cross, nor ever was sent to earth to die on the cross (checkout this site for further proof Answering Trinity).

how much miracle costs?

A little girl, Tess, went to her bedroom and pulled a glass jelly  jar from its hiding place in the closet.
She poured the change out on the floor and counted it carefully.
Three times, even The total had to be exactly perfect. No chance here for mistakes.

Carefully placing the coins back in the jar and twisting on the cap, she slipped out the back door and made her way 6 blocks to Rexall's Drug Store with the big red Indian Chief sign above the door.
She waited patiently for the pharmacist to give her some attention, but he was too busy at this moment.
Tess twisted her feet to make a scuffing noise. Nothing.... She cleared her throat with the most disgusting sound she could muster. No good Finally she took a quarter from her jar and banged it on the glass counter. That did it!

 'And what do you want?' the pharmacist asked in an annoyed tone of voice. I'm talking to my brother from Chicago whom I haven't seen in ages,' he said without waiting for a reply to his question.
'Well, I want to talk to you about my brother,' Tess answered back in the same annoyed tone. 'He's really, really sick...and I want to buy a miracle.'

'I beg your pardon?' said the pharmacist.
'His name is Andrew and he has something bad growing inside his head and my Daddy says only a miracle can save him now. So how much does a miracle cost?'

'We don't sell miracles here, little girl. I'm sorry but I can't help you,' the pharmacist said, softening a little.

'Listen, I have the money to pay for it. If it isn't enough, I will get the rest. Just tell me how much it costs.'

The pharmacist's brother was a well dressed man. He stooped down and asked the little girl, 'What kind of a miracle does your brother need?'
' I don't know,' Tess replied with her eyes swelling up. I just know he's really sick and Mommy says he needs an operation. But my Daddy can't pay for it, so I want to use my money.'
'How much do you have?' asked the man from Chicago.

 

'One dollar and eleven cents,' Tess answered barely audibly. 'And it's all the money I have, but I can get some more if I need to.'

'Well, what a coincidence,' smiled the man. 'A dollar and eleven cents---the exact price of a miracle for little brothers. '
He took her money in one hand and with the other hand he grasped her mitten and said 'Take me to where you live.
I want to see your brother and meet your parents. Let's see if I have the miracle you need.'

That well dressed man was Dr. Carlton Armstrong, a surgeon, specializing in neuro-surgery. The operation was completed free of charge and it wasn't long until Andrew was home again and doing well.

Mom and Dad were happily talking about the chain of events that had led them to this place.
'That surgery,' her Mom whispered. 'was a real miracle. I wonder how much it would have cost?'
Tess smiled. She knew exactly how much a miracle cost..one dollar and eleven cents....plus the faith of a little child.

In our lives, we never know how many miracles we will need.
A miracle is not the suspension of natural law, but the operation of a higher law.

Legend of Diwali (Dipawali)

Diwali also known as Deepawali, a Sanskrit word- means row of lights- is the festival of light. This festival is celebrated throughout India and other parts of the world, irrespective of religion and caste. Its preparation begins from Dussehra as it is common to hear the sound of crackers made by children in streets to make you remind that Diwali is approaching.

Diwali is the festival which is observed for five days and usually comes in the month of October/December when it is the darkest night of the month. This year it falls on 28 th of October.

There are many reasons for Hindus to celebrate this festival and harvest is among one of them. As this harvest of the kharif season i.e. mainly of rice, coincides this festival. Every harvest is celebrated with great joy and it is first offered as a gratitude to Almighty. Worship to the deity of the wealth and happiness - Goddess Laxmi is done by offering Poha - semi cooked rice as a custom in the North and West India .

This festival is celebrated at night and this night is generally the darkest night of the year. It is illuminated so much by the lights that no corner is left by dark. It shows the happiness of inside and out of a person. People welcome this festival by cleaning nook and corner of their houses, shops and surroundings as there is a strong belief that goddess of wealth Laxmi bestows her blessings to the place which is the most clean.

This festival is celebrated by many sects of Hindus according to their own reasons.

Mainly it is celebrates as to mark the welcome of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after defeating Ravana. Shri Ram- incarnation of Lord Vishnu returned to his capital Ayodhya in India after the exile of fourteen years. It is the great example of a son to keep a father's vow to his stepmother Kaikeyi who was jealous of the coronation of Shri Ram as she wanted that her son Bharat would made king of that glorious kingdom. Bharat refused to this injustice planned by her mother and discarded the comfort of palace as his brother, Shri Ram was suffering in jungle. Lord Shri Ram killed Ravana and rescued his wife Sita on the day of Dussehra. He then returned to his capital exactly after twenty days on the day of dark fortnight of the month of Kartik. People of Ayodhya were happy and greet their king Lord Rama by turning this dark night into day by row of lights to show their happiness and greetings to their king.

The five day festival begins with the thirteenth day of the Kartik month known as tryodashi or teras or popularly known as Dhanteras- dhana means wealth and teras means thirteen. It is an auspicious day to buy gold, silver or any metal thing for the house like utensils etc. During this day lamps/diya are also lighted for lord Yama i.e. lord of death. This day is celebrated as Yamadeepdaan and a diya is kept burning whole night in the name of Yama to avert untimely death and for the welfare of the members of the family.

The next day is the fourteenth day of the month - chaturdashi- popularly known as narak chaturdashi - the day on which Lord Krishna killed Narakasura. This legend goes to the epoch of dwapar yuga when Lord Krishna killed the evil king of Pragjyotishpur. That evil king had kidnapped 16,000 daughters of gods and earrings of Aditi- the mother of gods. On the request of Gods, Lord Krishna fought a fierce battle with the evil king. After the mighty battle, he succeeded in killing the evil king and freeing the 16000 daughters and recovering the earrings of mother Aditi returned home. He was welcomed and bathed with scented oils. In some parts of India especially in Maharashtra this day is marked by taking special bath early in the morning after a full body massage of scented oil. This is known as abhyang-snan that includes herbs or ayurvedic items like sandalwood, manjistha, rose, camphor, orange peels and turmeric that are natural antiseptic. The sweets like kheer or sweet vermicelli and the sounds of fireworks add to the festive mood.

In the Eastern part of India this day pooja of Maa Kali is done with great enthusiasm. It is believed that on this day, Kali, the goddess of power killed the wicked demon Raktavija. This day Lord Hanuman is also worshipped by the offerings of sesame laddoos and sweets.

This day is also marked by the victory to Vamana Avtar - one of the incarnation of Lord Vishnu - over great demon king Bali- who was powerful and righteous demon king became threat to the universe.

The next day is the amavasya i.e. the day to celeberate Diwali. Entrance door is decorated with Torans and many other decorations made of artificial flowers, beads and floor is also decorated with traditional Rangoli. Puja is performed in the evening with lavishly decorated puja thalis that includes flowers, camphors, vermillion, sweets etc according to the family traditions. In south India camphor lit aarti is an integral part of pujas. Goddess Laxmi along with other Gods is decorated with gold jewelry and special Laxmi puja is performed. People wear new clothes and perform puja by offering rice, fruit, flowers, sweets and coconuts.

Feasting, gambling, family gatherings, lights and fire crackers mark the festival throughout the country. Gambling and drinking is part of this festival especially in West Bengal . The North Indian business community usually starts their financial new year on Diwali and new account books are opened on this day. Diwali gifts, sweets and dry fruits are distributed to well wishers and neighbors to share the happiness of this festival.

According to Skanda Purana Lord Shiva accepts Shakti to his left half and appeared as Ardhanaarishvara after the completion of the great vrat - kedara vrat that was kept by Maa Shakti for twenty one days.

Goddess Laxmi was incarnated on this holy day as a result of churning of the ocean - samudra manthan, therefore this day is associated with Laxmi poojan.

According to "Mahabharata" Pandavas appeared from their twelve years exile as a result of their defeat in the hands of the Kauravas during gambling.

Great Hindu king Vikramaaditya was coronated on this day.

Maharshi Dayananda, one of the greatest reformers of Hinduism and the founder of Arya Samaj attained his nirvana on October 31st, 1883 at Ajmer during the evening of Diwali.

Jains celebrate it as the day on which Mahavira attained Nirvana.

For Sikhs Guru Ram Das was born on 9 October 1534 in Chuna Mandi, Lahore . Also in 1577 the foundation stone of The Golden Temple was laid on Diwali. On Diwali 1619 the Golden Temple was illuminated with many lights to welcome home and celebrate the release of sixth Guru Hargobind from imprisonment in Gwalior fort.
Diwali is followed by Anna koota next day. It is also popularly known as Goverdhan Pooja. This pooja is offered to Lord Krishna as he saves the lives of people by the wrath of lord Indra. The people of Gokul commemorated a festival in honor of Lord Indra and worshiped him after the end of monsoon season every year. Lord Krishna persuaded people to pray fields and cattle from where they are benefited rather than to Lord Indra. Angry by this act of Lord Krishna, Lord Indra sent a torrent to sink Gokul. Lord Krishna lifted the mountain and held it as an umbrella for the people and saved them. Humbled by this act, Lord Indra, approached Lord Krishna to apologize. Annakoot means- hammered grains or porridge. Hammered maze is cooked in sweetened as well as salty form specially. A range of delicacies from karhi-chawal to kheer, doodh bhat and many more items are cooked on this day to offer Lord Krishna - commonly known as Giriraj ji or Bihariji. Giriraj ji appeared with a huge body, so the quantity of food he requires to be satiated has to be huge. huge quantities of wide range of food items are offered at Raj Bhog - forenoon , which is then distributed among devotees as Prasad.

The last day of the festival is Bhai Dooj when sisters mark a tilak on her brother's forehead and wish for his welfare and long life. This day Lord Yama - the lord of death- promised her sister Yamuna to have food at her home our of her love as he loved her sister Yamuna dearly. Some parts of north India paddy grass is also applied on the back of ear of brother and applying tilak to brother. Brothers, in their turn bless their sister and pamper them with loads of Bhai dooj gifts. The festival concludes with a grand meal and the exchange of gifts.

By this concludes the great five day celebrations of festival season.

Education vs. employability

with which we heard calls for large scale reform wherever we went. Many of the businesses we spoke to felt that education failed to effectively prepare individuals for the workplace. Even students felt that their education lacked relevance to the jobs they were hoping to apply for in the future.”

             While the demand for large scale reforms in the education sector to match the expectation of industries is gaining prominence, how to equip people with the relevant skills they need, is a serious concern for many. Dr Manas Fuloria, co founder & executive VP, corporate development and strategy, Nagarro Software Pvt Ltd suggests that at school or college level, the focus of teaching should be more top down rather than bottom up. It should start with what does the person needs to know to do a good job rather than just going through the details of all the traditional subjects. Bringing in drastic changes to the education system seems to take a long time, so many firms have implemented several training programmes to improve the quality of the available talent. Today, there are various training programmes, both within and outside firms, conducted independently by organisations or in partnership with various universities.

           But experts say that training programmes must be designed in such a way as to motivate and improve the skills of a person. “A training programme must do three things - it must inspire, motivate and sell the importance of the skills, it should package the training in a memorable way, and lastly have the person actually use the training in a simulated job environment,” opines Fuloria.

              “The training programmes should be more work centric and they should be developed according to the needs of the work and the workplace. It is becoming increasingly apparent that it is the behaviour which marks out the adaptability of a person in a workplace. So equal emphasis on specific skills as well as behaviours is desirable,” adds Claire Stuart, international marketing manager at Edexcel. And the success of a training programme lies in how much of it an employee could use effectively in his/her work life. Even though training programmes could help employees improve their skills and prepare themselves, experts say that personal effort is also crucial in enhancing employability. “A lot of the responsibility for ensuring employability falls on the shoulder of the student/jobseeker,” says Fuloria.

             According to one woman, she had sex for divine feelings, according to her sex is nearest thing to god. But in many cases the answers of women were strange. 84% females have accepted that,they had sex just because they don’t want any sort of quarrels, and for the peace of they home.

             One woman told that she had sex to get rid of boredome, because it is better way rather then having fight, and they got some satisfaction of done something after sex. Though some of the women does sex to get rid of their headache, while other few does sex just to show sympathy towards someone.

             According to survey conducted over students, 1 out of 10 students, have sex just for enjoyments, and in one case female student told that, her male friend took her for dinner and spent a lot of money, so she had sex with him. A survey conducted to university students, they told that, often they had sex with males they don’t know, who are not their boy friends.

What makes Advani special?

So what makes the new World Professional billiards champion Pankaj Advani so special that there are fewer peaks left for him to conquer than any Indian cueist of any era? Talk to his friends and foes and you get the answers. For the record, besides being the World pro billiards champ, Advani is the only Indian to have won world amateur billiards as well as snooker titles and only the second in the world to do so besides Paul Mifsud. Om Agrawal is the only other world snooker champ from India (1984).

Geet Sethi, the only other Indian to win the billiards pro title (5 times), in an email message put Advani’s win in perspective. It’s a fantastic win. To beat Russell in England and that too in the final of the World Pro Championship is not easy. Pankaj has proved that he is indeed a great competitor,’’ stated Sethi who for the first time failed to reach the last eight of the world pro while Advani had not gone beyond the last eight in his previous two attempts.

                    Before Sethi it was Wilson Jones, Mike Ferreira and Satish Mohan who had wowed the world of billiards. Said Mike three-time world amateur champ and once World Open champ, about Advani, Russell is the best player postwar so you can imagine how important this feat is. Advani is a far better player than Paul Mifsud, the only other world double (snooker and billiards) champ. In billiards, Mifsud was not a great break builder. He would have runs of around 150. Pankaj hit a break of over 600 at last year’s trials. Again in snooker, Mifsud would make 80-90 breaks. Pankaj has scored over 130 more than half a dozen times.’’
The 2002 world amateur champ Ashok Shandilya, who is among those rare cueists to tame the might of Advani, hailed the latter’s achievement saying, to beat three players like Sethi, David Causier and Russell in one tournament and win it is something special. He is a special boy. Indian cricket needed a Tendulkar to revive it. Billiards has got Advani to revive it. Mike Ferreira brought money into the game, Sethi brought class and now we have Advani. He has learnt everything before time.’’

              Former Asian snooker champ, Yasin Merchant who has often been at the receiving end from Advani in snooker, says he is too mature at this age. He has commitment, dedication, discipline, a mature head on young shoulders. He is deserving of the title of King of World Billiards. He is sincere, knows what he wants in life. He may not have the flair of a Sethi or a Russell, but Pankaj is consistent and has such a temperament that he can hit back strong.’’

             So what are the peaks still left to conquer for Pankaj? Well, a thousand break in billiards. The dream maximum 147 in snooker (which Sethi is the only Indian to make in tournaments). And of course the professional snooker circuit. Pankaj has stayed away from it because it is UK-centric and gives a lot of advantage to European players. It is great to know that among Advani’s ambition is to be like Geet Sethi on and off the table.’’ Another example of the right priorities which Yasin was talking about.

How open should one be about secrets in a relationship?

                 They say if there is one gospel rule about relationships, it has got to be trust —without which relationships cannot grow. Trust means belief; it is about having no doubts with regard to honesty and credibility. This holds true not only between individuals but also between individuals and organisations. Companies are working on building trust as they have realised it to be more important in maintaining the much desired consumer connect. However, everybody have their little ‘top secrets’; secrets buried deep down the closet which they don’t want to part with. But how long can one go hush-hush and guard that veil? Just when is the right time to talk about that wild summer holiday in high school? Or that trek to an ancient cave with colleagues and what happened there?

               Atik Agarwal has the all pervasive answer, “It depends”. Since that does not throw any light, he elaborates further, “These days, we have a lot of functional relationships which have no space for emotions or feelings. In such a case, there is no need to open up.” Adds girlfriend Ruchi Gupta, “But when it comes to relationships that are going to last life long, one should play fair and not keep anything away from him/her.” How does one make a call of being confident enough of sharing those ‘relationship-threatening’ details with a partner? “Take your time and reach a stage where love is more important than anything else. It is then as the events unfold and situations merits, spill your beans,” Ruchi adds.

              Yes, life is certainly one big fat book and one can’t read it all out at one go. Fear of losing is also what drives many people to open up. Says student Ayesha Jha, “In due course of a relationship, as discussions arise, you can share your secrets. And it is better to be truthful because if your partner finds out through somebody else, you will be in deep trouble.”

             But some people think otherwise. Dhrumi Shah, an arts student says, “Some things are not to be shared. I have certain personal experiences which I would take with me to the grave. If I tell all to my partner, I would have revealed all my weaknesses and god forbid something goes wrong; it can have a devastating impact on my life. Moreover, I feel what he doesn’t know won’t hurt him.” However, what Dhrumi might not know is that life is wicked. If she thinks one need not tell all in a relationship, her partner might just believe in the opposite.

           If the understanding of trust and secrets is this crystal clear, why do suspicions arise and strengthen? What keeps people from being open about their lives? Riddhima Patel has a perfect answer which is convenient at the same time. She states, “Being open about secrets is not similar to confessing your sins in a church. Honesty is the best policy but add to it some discretion and tact and you’ve got the key.”

Where there is confusion, there is no freedom

We are going to talk about freedom. Free to live where we want, free to do what we want, Free to select girl or boy, free to read anything, even free to not read anyting. We are free for anything, then what we do with that freedom? Based on the freedom that we have got, we do almost all that we want, and thus we move towards being rebellious (maverik).

You have got freedom to all sort, but what you do with that freedom? We believe that we have got options, and we are free for selection. Where do we want to go? Italy or London? I am free to select any of these two, only i need passport and visa.  But does freedom emerges from Selection?  Just think carefully, why do we need to do selection from options? If you are very clear about what you want then there is no options for that,isn't it?

Where there is clearity about this or that, there can never be confusion. Where there is confusion, uncertainity, there only options comes in.What i am saying is f there is no confusion, there is nothing loke selection, nothing like options inside us, that is the actual freedom. 

Even worst should not be the end of hope

           There was a rich man, once he went to roam around in see in his provate boat. Enjoying the see he went bit far, and suddenly there starts storm in sea. Not seeing any possibility of storm to vanish, he jumped to sea wearing his life jacket. After he jumped his boat sanced but he swim and reached to a nearest island.

           There was no one on that island and every side there was only see. He started to think that he hadn't done any bad to anyone in his entire life, then why he is suffering?. But the his own mind replied to him that almighty have saved him from the storm, he will only show him some way. Day by date time was fleeting away, he was eating fruits of the trees what ever available on that island. Gradualy he started to loose Faith in goad, he was thinking had bee god there, he whould have not been suffering like that.

           He dont know till how long he has to stay there, he though let me create a small hut. Using tree woods and leaves he created a hut. He became very happy that finaly he will be able to sleep in hut and wont need to sleep under sky. Suddenly there came a lightening and his hut started to burn. He started to crying and cursing the god, that really there is no god,and god is very crual.

           while He was crying because of frustration, a boat came to island and two men come from the boat to this fellow. Those men told him that we say some fire on island, and we thought there should be someone who needs help, and so we came. had there been no fire we would have never come to know about you.

            Our man, started crying, Drops of tears started to flow from his eyes. He pledges to god that forgive me, you are indeed very kind. You have burnt my hut to save me.

When something bad happens to human, he became frustreted. Helan Caler had quoted once  wonderfully that " when god closed one dore of happiness, he opens many more otheres. But we are so tensed and frustred that we dont see other dore of happiness".

            Sometime we feels everything is in our grasp, and sometime the lines of our own palm seems betraying. Only time can define himself. Wind never blows to a single direction, waterfall ever stops, sun never stops rising from west, then how come time be bad for all the time? Tough condition never sustain but tough men does. After the last moment of dark night there comes the first rays of pleasant light.
